Morning, I hope all is groovy. Pretty groovy here, my wife is in Japan talking documentaries meanwhile I am here, all chirpy in an apron serving up singed waffles to my evil and slightly grumpy offspring. And I can tell you now it's nothing like that odd breakfast scene from McVicar.
Now, Christmas is very much on its way. I have been busy. There are new sections in Ye Olde Trunk Shoppe, which include Jonny's Xmas Sack 2019. In there are the three new Trunk vinyl releases - Mechanical keyboards Sounds on clear vinyl (totally unique and already hailed by Boomkat as a classic and it really is quite something), an unreleased Roy Budd Score (need I say more) and the Sara / Lucy music for Schools And Colleges on 7". All these cannot be bought elsewhere and are limited. Also, there are numerous groovy garments, Trumps, some more catfood and YES YES YES, the legendary Trunk Xmas mixes. The 2019 Secret Santa mix is now there too. Also I got a text from my amazing printer last night and I have three more very exciting things arriving next week (library tee, jazz tee, fresh egg sweatshirt) but I will send out another email about those when they land. They will be the last productions of the year and will be available early next week.
Here you can watch Teahe Types, the guy who made the keyboards and the keyboard sounds, "unboxing" the keyboard vinyl LPs I sent him (from about 16 minutes in). It's great because he doesn't have a record player and has never opened a record parcel before. It's like two disparate geeky cultures (mechanical keyboards and vinyl) meeting in a odd place. Which was the whole point of the LP in the first place.
And of course there is the all new 50p Christmas page, with a brand new festive offering; possibly one of the greatest festive albums I have ever heard, Christmas In Zitherland. I thought it was going to be a bit obvious and boring, but it's actually this sublime festive spiritual wobbly thing. Amazing. And don't forget the classic Japanese christmas madness, the extoic festive madness and more. Two pages of it!!!
Last night I pre-recorded my OST radio show for this coming Saturday, and in it I played the opening theme to Stop, Look And Listen. Then I ended up watching this, all about ice cream, all a bit Wrappers Delight.
Thanks to all who turned up at the Indy Label Market. Ace fun as always.
I'm now off to walk the dog in the rain. Then to my printers to go and get his new work. Then more book packing and maybe, just maybe a quick look in at the miserable record fayre to top of the morning in style.
Thanks for listening as always
Jonny
