hello, I hope all is well. Things are alright here. I'm back from having buggered off with my family - actually we came back about 12 days ago. And this week my teen went camping wearing nothing but sportswear, and with a plan to eat nothing cereal and pot noodles for two days. Nothing new there then. I went to the antiques market at Spitalfields yesterday (what's left of it) and bought two old wooden spoons to replace the ones I'd broken doing the NHS clap / pot banging thing.
So, a new Trunk LP has arrived. Called Bruton Brutoff, it's the ambient, electronic and pastoral side of the Bruton library catalogue. Even if I say so myself this is a killer - even "Super Wow" - compilation, with the kind of music you'd hear on Take Hart as he draws an autumn tree. Like 80s tinkling New Age but better. Cameron, Hawkshaw, Bennett, Monkman and even vibraphone man Frank Ricotti gets in on the muscial action here. To give you examples of what's in store, there's the track One Language from the East Meets West Bruton LP everyone seems to want. Also Stargazing, and the TOTAL CLASSIC Vibes. Loads more too.
I have a license to make just 500 copies. Might not be able to get more made (and if I do will change the artwork some how so the pressing is different). So, this first pressing is only available via Trunk at the moment, with one hundred reserved and heading out into the wild via shops etc. So not that many to go around.
The album can be bought right here right now. BE QUICK. It really is superb and sounds very "now" to my sensitive ears. Also, apologies for the lack of picture in ye olde Trunk shoppe - there is one if you scroll down. Not my fault. It's a "back end boys" thing apparently.
In other news I was sent this bonkers sea chicken Star Wars thing.
I'm now off to to tidy my really messy and slightly chaotic office which I have avoided doing since I got back from hols and as a result I have been getting in everyone's way in the house. Even the little dog has got slightly annoyed with me invading his spot on the sofa in the mornings.
Thanks for listening.
Jonny
