Day-Glo DJ Not For Sale Tee Shirt - Sexy Grey
This Tee shirt image comes from a rare sticker you find occasionally on 1960s promo vinyl LPs. I’ve come across a handful of these very distinctive stickers over the years and every time I do I think "wow, great sticker, would make a great tee shirt". I love the sticker because it’s an unusual oval shape, and is very hard to miss, printed on Day-Glo orange paper with black print on the top. The black print turns slightly dark orange because of the Day-Glo colour underneath it. I’ve only ever found the sticker on American jazz pressings, one particularly good example is on a Monty Alexander album. Anyway, I’ve gone and made the tee shirt now, mainly because it has been nagging at me for a while to get done and also because I think it would be a fine thing to wear if you were actually playing music out. To make to tee I enlarged the sticker and so it now measures about 24cm wide. The print is obviously two colours and has been made using plastic based inks which make it look all zingy and will ensure that it retains the Day-Glo oddness for year to come. We tried printing on darker colours but the Day-Glo ink decided to be a little problematic, so at the moment we have white, ice blue and sexy grey. All tee shirts are those classy Continental brand ones which are all soft and pretty sexy. If there is a DJ in your life, they need this tee shirt.
