LOOKING BACK IN A FUNNY WAY
So here it is. 30 years has brought us here. Instead of repeating what I did for Trunk 25 where I brought together 33 tracks I'd mostly issued before, here I've pulled together an LP's worth of music I have not yet issued. What better way, I thought, to sum up such a unique label better than continuing where we first began?
Tracks include some unreleased Roger Webb slow sex disco, scatty breakbeat library, psychedelics from Gabo Szabo’s backing group (The Advancement), groovy jazz from Pittsburg (The Silhouettes), Basil Kirchin’s unreleased electronic experimental thing (it is very much “a thing”). Plus, outsider singing from a hippie who lived in Drop City, a flexi disc selling you the Milton Keynes shopping centre dream and of course some improvised jazz for children’s dance workshops. Oh, and some unreleased John Cameron from an unreleased 1970 soundtrack. And all on one LP.
Here is the track listing:
Side One:
Walking On The Dark Side - Peter Beasson / Jacques Hendrix
Stone Folk - The Advancement
Watch The Waters Flow - Ananda Thalia
Lunar Invasion - The Silhouettes
Brass Tones - Delia Derbyshire / Elsa Stansfield
Bowskill Tape 1-1 - Coleridge Goode
Side Two:
Central Milton Keynes - Ronnie Bond
Electronic Instrument Tape - Basil Kirchin
La Même Chose - Roger Webb
One Day Last Summer - St Mary’s Secondary
Rimmer Tape - John Cameron
There will be only one pressing of this, some going to shops, most available via this site. Special bargain price here too....
Thanks for listening as always, and thanks for the last 30 years!
