Description
Basil Kirchin - Primitive London
Yes, a pair of unreleased film recordings form the master of all sorts of things musical, Basil Kirchin. First is Primitive London, the classic 1965 Mondo film, strippers, chicken factories, beatniks and someone having their corns cut off, all to a background of Basil's strange jazz and drone. Two cues here are identical to Herrmann's score to Taxi Driver, written 12 years later. Amazing. The Freelance is another bag altogether, long jazz pieces with a superb melody, touches of free jazz, good drums, you name it. Essential!
